English Elite Programme

The Shane English Elite Programme is an enhanced version of the standard programme and is intended for students who already have a fundamental understanding of English  but are keen to improve their fluency. It is also suitable for students who have regular exposure to English in their daily life. The programme is based on the international programme of Shane English but has substantial new content added to fortify the learning process. Like the other English programme, it is designed using guidelines from the local education authority and is therefore designed with local students in mind.

The Elite programme has an integrated curriculum. Each unit of the programme includes four basic building blocks: Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary Builder, Grammar and Usage, and a Writing Exercise. Much emphasis is placed on reading and writing but a balance is maintained to enhance students’ vocabulary and grammar usage as well. The spiral learning design helps students to build up their language skills systematically and effectively.

Reading and writing are at the core of this programme. The reading material is carefully chosen to broaden students’ knowledge base and current topics of interest are selected to make the reading passage interesting . Each unit of learning has a writing exercise which is tailored to complement the reading passage, giving the student ample material upon which to base their writing.

As with the standard program, “British English” is at the core of our programme. In order to help students improve their pronunciation and listening skills, numerous audio materials are provided. All narrations for our audio materials are delivered in a British accent by native English speakers. Providing this near-immersive English environment is essential for pupils acquiring a second language and is an integral part of our design.

The current programme covers students from kindergarten level to F3 (i.e. K-9)
