Use it or lose it! Learning a language means you have to be an active user . The more you use it to interact with others, the better and quicker you learn. Creating an English learning environment seems difficult for some people. The good news is, there are many simple ways to use English on a daily basis without much hassle. Here are some habits you can try.

A.  Download some podcasts in English to listen to in your free time

Podcasts are an awesome way to practice your listening skills. Some are specially tailored for English learners and are quite useful. If you are a more advanced learner, you can listen to podcasts produced for native speakers while doing chores or travelling on public transport.

B.  Change your machine settings to English

For all electronic devices such as your phone, you could change the settings to English. That will turn your mindset to English, training you to think in English.

C.  Label everything around your room or house

This is useful for beginners. Take some time to label everything in your room or house in English. Though it may look silly, you will start to think of objects in English, which is a bonus !

D.  Put up quotes, sayings, goals etc. in English

You can “decorate” your living space in English by putting up some meaningful  quotes, memorable sayings and so on in English. Consider writing down your to-do list or some daily goals in English and put it to work.

E.  Playing and listening to English songs

Good songs and music stick into one’s mind. When you listen to the singing, try to understand the lyrics as well. The more you do so, the more English will become part of your life.

F.  Post and follow on social media using English

Many people, including children, have social media accounts. Why not use them to help you learn English? Write one post in English daily. Follow some English pages about anything that interests you so that your feed is in English .

G.  Start thinking in English

All of the things mentioned above are intended for one purpose: to create  the habit of thinking in English. At first, you have to do these activities on purpose which you may find difficult. In time these habits will come naturally!
